Meet Our Cats Ace Angel #10: Cats Ace Angel Linda
Not every Cat Angel works from a big rescue property or runs an organization.
Some simply step outside onto their deck every morning… and make sure no one goes hungry.
For 74 year old Linda in Conneaut Lake, that small deck has quietly become a sanctuary.
And it all started because people moved away and left their cats behind.
When Others Leave, She Steps In

Linda lives in a beautiful mobile home park in Conneaut Lake. It is peaceful. Well kept. The kind of place you would not expect to find abandoned animals.
But when families move, sometimes the cats do not go with them.
First there was Mama and Junior. Two outside cats trying to survive on their own. Junior eventually passed away, but Mama stayed. And then came her kittens, Stash and Star.
Last summer brought three more babies into the world. Peaches, Fluffy, and Stripes.
Then this fall, two more tiny kittens appeared.
Linda and her daughter did not hesitate. They each took one. Linda kept Sweetie. Her daughter adopted Wolfie.
Sweetie had endured something horrific. Something tore away half of her face. Linda was able to catch her, clean and treat her wounds, and nurse her back to health.
Sweetie survived because someone cared enough to act.
And Linda could not bear the thought of leaving her little sister outside alone.

Six Outside and Seven Inside
Today, Linda feeds six cats outside every single day.
Inside her home, she has seven more.
She tries to give the outdoor six wet food daily, even while making sure her indoor cats are cared for too. Most of her indoor cats are fixed, though Lil’ Dude and Sunny are still waiting, and Sweetie Pie is still too young.
Transportation has become one of her biggest hurdles. Her car is not running, and at 74 and disabled, simply getting to a low cost spay and neuter appointment is not easy.
But she keeps doing what she can, with what she has.

A Deck Turned Lifeline
Linda feeds the cats from her deck because that is what she is physically able to manage.
She has created a small makeshift feeding station. A Chewy box turned on its side to keep food dry. A shelter she built last winter that unfortunately partially caved in. She tried again this fall, always thinking about how to keep them warmer and safer.
The cats often prefer the space under her trailer. It feels secure to them.
There are visiting tomcats. Raccoons. Possums.
Still, every day, the bowls are filled.
Because she is there.

Her Greatest Wish
If Linda could ask for one thing, it would be help getting the six outside cats TNR’d.
She understands how important it is to prevent more litters. She just needs support with transportation and access to affordable services.
Her heart is fully committed.
She simply needs a little help carrying the weight.
Cats Ace Angel #10, Linda
She does not run a nonprofit. She does not have acres of land. What she has is compassion, consistency, and a small deck in Conneaut Lake where six cats know they will eat every day.
Sweetie is alive because of her.
Wolfie has a home because of her.
Mama’s kittens were not forgotten because of her.
Sometimes rescue looks quiet.
Sometimes it looks like a 74 year old woman stepping outside with a bowl of food.
And sometimes, that is more than enough.
